Mia D'Agostino has worked as a licensed therapist since 2013. Her background includes a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Mia started her career at Compass Health Center’s Adolescent Program in Northbrook and then later their Chicago location. In these programs she facilitated group therapy based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT ) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and led parent support groups. She then underwent intensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), implementing ERP on an individual basis for adolescents and adults at Compass Health Center Chicago. Seeing a need for increased peer to peer connection and a more specialized group therapy experience, Mia developed Compass’s first OCD and Complex Anxiety Program for individuals 18+ and was the director of that program for four years. In this program as well as her private practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is often the foundation of her clinical work with adults. While she has maintained a part-time private practice throughout her time at Compass, she has now transitioned full time to Lumira Psychotherapy.
